Full-Time Police Officers – Ambridge Borough
Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Ambridge Civil Service Commission to take a competitive examination leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman.
General Requirements
Candidates at the time of application must:
1) Possess a high school diploma or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED)
2) Must have successfully completed Pennsylvania Act 120 Certification, including passing the final exam
3) Be a United States Citizen
4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer
5) Be at least 21 years of age at appointment to full-time
6) Be legally eligible to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, applicants after appointment will be required to live within a (50) minute travel time from the Ambridge Borough Building.

2024 Starting rate $54,919.30 2026 Top rate $81,002.81

Successful applicants must also meet all requirements of the Borough’s Civil Service Rules and Regulations that will include a background investigation, and if selected, be required to pass a physical and psychological examination.
An application packet and details of the selection process may be obtained at the Ambridge Borough Building, located at 600 11th Street, Ambridge, PA 15003, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Applications will be accepted from August 16, 2024 through August 30, 2024 ending at 3:00 pm. The physical agility test and the written test date will be announced at a later date.

Applications Are Now Being Accepted for the Position of Part-Time Fire Fighter/Code Enforcement for The Ambridge Fire Department.
Applications for Part-time Firefighter/Code Enforcement for the Borough of Ambridge can be obtained from the Borough Administration Office in Ambridge -600 11th Street, Ambridge, PA between 8:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.
All previous applications and eligibility lists are void.
