Historic District Economic Development Corporation seeks Grants and Donations
The Ambridge Historic District Economic Development Corporation (AHDEDC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer, grassroots organization and is endorsed by the Ambridge Borough Council.
In August of 1987, the National Register of Historic Places certified a large number of specific structures throughout the Old Economy neighborhood of Ambridge as being of “Key” or “Contributing” historical significance. All of these structures were either built or used by the Harmonist community. It is this neighborhood and occupancy of these buildings by residents, businesses, or other organizations that the AHDEDC seeks to preserve and promote.
In 2007 Ambridge was designated as a Preserve America Community by the White House.
Preserve America recognizes and designates communities that protect and celebrate their heritage, use their historic assets for economic development and community revitalization, and encourage people to experience and appreciate local historic resources through education and heritage tourism programs.
The revitalization of Ambridge is unfolding every day with new businesses openings, beautification projects, renovation projects, many new events at Old Economy Village, and more. This is your opportunity to partner with the members of the AHDEDC to promote the community, attract visitors, increase economic development, and help shape the future of Ambridge for the next generations.
