The Borough of Ambridge has hired a part-time Local Health Officer who is certified by the Department of Agriculture. This officer will conduct sanitation inspections of retail food facilities to determine compliance with the food code and investigate consumer complaints when they arise. He will observe and educate food handlers on proper processing and handling techniques, safe food handling practices, vector control, cleanliness, and relevant laws, rules, and regulations dealing with food sanitation AND provide resources to aide with compliance.
